Garage conversions
Unused garage space turned into a heated, usable room — insulated, plastered and finished to match the rest of the house.
Most attached garages end up storing things nobody uses. Converted properly, the same footprint becomes a home office, a playroom, an extra bedroom, a utility or a gym — usually for a good deal less than an extension of the same size, because the walls and roof already exist.
The work is in the detail that does not show afterwards. The garage door opening is closed up and a proper window built in, the floor is raised, insulated and damp-proofed, the walls and roof are insulated and lined, and heating, lighting and sockets are run in to match the rest of the house.
Finished well, a converted garage should not read as a converted garage. We match the external walling and window style to the house, and carry the same skirtings, architraves and floor finishes through from the adjoining rooms.
