About Us

Blair Gourlay Joinery and Construction is an owner-led joinery and building business working across Dumfries and Galloway. Blair is a fully qualified tradesman and has been trading since 2019 — seven years of taking on domestic work from single rooms through to complete new houses.

What started as one joiner has grown into a team. As the work has come in we have taken on time-served joiners, and between us and the trades we work with, there is nothing we need to send you elsewhere for. That is the point of how we run jobs: you deal with Blair from the first conversation to handover, and we manage the sequencing, the trades and the deliveries so you do not have to.

We also develop and market our own new-build homes. It is an unusual thing for a local builder to do, and it changes how we work — we make the specification decisions ourselves on those houses, so we know what a finish actually costs to achieve and can give you a straight answer when you are weighing up options on your own project.

The thing customers mention most in their own words is not the building work at all. It is that we turn up when we say we will, keep the site tidy, and treat the house like somebody lives in it — because usually somebody does.
